Photographs by Tom Drury
I’m curious to know what is meant by the Engines of Change – is it meant to be ironic? Does the train serve some organization by that name?
Like the colors, rusty wheels and the solidity of the undercarriage.
I believe that is environmentally better than other engines somehow. It’s not ironic. It’s a Union Pacific engine. What I liked about this trainyard was how utterly empty it was. Just me and one other photographer. L.A. can seem more like your own personal city more than any other city I’ve seen.
